Getting To Cape York

Your 7 day Cape York sport fishing adventure starts with a charter flight from Cairns to Princess Charlotte Bay, via Musgrave Station, 350kms NNW of Cairns, departing from Hinterland Aviation at 1.30pm.

Your flight takes approximately 1 hour, flying over Port Douglas, World Heritage Daintree Rainforest, Bloomfield River, west of Cooktown over the Normanby and Kennedy Rivers in Lakefield National Park and land at Musgrave telegraph station by approx. 2.45pm. Your return transfers use the same aircraft bringing in the next set of clients and departs Musgrave at approx. 3.15pm, arriving back in Cairns approx. 5.00pm (due to the vagrancies of weather and remote location travel, we suggest clients arrange southern connection from 8pm onwards).

Our 2 Toyota Landcruisers take you for a 1 hour drive through Cape York wilderness, which I am sure will have you eager to board the Boomerang as she awaits your arrival at the Annie River. Along the way you may see emus, kanagaroos, wild pigs and brolgas.

If there is anything better I am yet to find it

The wildlife of the reefs, islands, headlands and estuary systems provide a visual smorgasbord second to none. PCB is one of the last truly untouched areas left in Queensland. Our unique location provides a vast array of landscapes with the variety of wildlife an experience in itself. Sightings of local wildlife are common often spotting dolphins, whales, turtles, dugong as well as some larger than life sharks and salt water crocodiles. The local birdlife is abundant with many species such as sea eagles, hawks, kites, herons, petrels, Brolga's, kingfishers, cockatoos and many others. Occasionally you can also catch a glimpse of a shy rock wallaby

Whilst most of the week is spent either on the Mother-ship or in the dories there are some chances to explore the beautiful sand quays and Islands. If a nature walk is of interest there may be the opportunity to view aboriginal paintings and middens along a gazetted nature walk.

The scenery is stunning, the fishing exciting and varied but we encourage sport fishing and catch and release practices. There is a strict limit of up to 10kg of cleaned / filleted fish per person. We provide air craft approved boxes so you can take your fish home with you as luggage.
